Summer Harvest 2025

/ 1 min read

Last Updated:

Whew, I expect to return to this and update as I harvest more vegetables. Recounting the season below:

Produce Grown

  • Cucumbers
    • These cucs grew pretty well. We were drowning in pickles by end of July. Next year, I need to find a better spot where they won’t get obliterated by full sun.
  • Peppers
    • Jalapeño (Jalafuego)
      • Craziest Jalapeño plant I’ve ever seen. Huge broad leaves that are unlike other peppers I’ve grown. Has been producing very consistently and starting to harvest multiple pods per day now.
    • Matchbox
      • I’m still waiting for these to ripen. I have so many green pods that it’s torture to watch them day-after-day, taunting me.
    • Hungarian Wax (Unknown seed)
    • Anaheim (Unknown seed)
  • Cherry tomatoes (purchased from local nursery)
  • Herbs
    • Basil
    • Parsley
    • Chives
    • Thyme

Recap

I started this season off quite late due to a vacation in April, so most seeds were sown around late April / early May. Unfortunately, I didn’t record much data, besides taking some photos.

But, anyway I hope to harvest quite a bit more from this cycle of plants the cold brings their demise. Stay tuned for more harvest and then the microgreen growing season begins in the fall!
